Job Description

In line with our Corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on the one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast changing business environment on the other, we are seeking a highly motivated, resulted and well qualified and experienced professional to fill the following vacancy in the Corporate Service Division.
Procurements Officer – Grade ZRA05
Reporting directly to the Procurement controller, the job holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the procurement activities through timely expediting and managing contracts of goods and services in order to meet organizational requirements.
Main Duties and Accountabilities
• Coordinate and obtain No objections for socilitation Documents and Contracts to facilitate the timely purchase of goods and services, in liaison with the Procurement Controller
• Prepare Committee Papers for submission to ZPPA as directed by the Procurements Controller
• Conduct timely contracting of goods and services from the identified right sources in line with the principles of value for Money
• Offer day to day advice on the pending Contracting and Contract Management issues to Procurement controller
• Assist the Procurement Controller in the production of monthly status reports on procurements
• Provide timely advise on matters of procurement whose delivery is about to exceed delivery schedules
• Determine the best monitoring method for the Procurements plan
• Participate in Tender Evaluation
• Prepare tender monitoring reports for the acquisition of goods and services
• Conduct secretarial duties at all tender opening meetings and follow up on procurement Committee decision
• Provide procurements progress information to end users regarding lead times and expected delivery.
Requirements
• Grade 12 school certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) equivalent,
• University degree Plus Graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply(MCIPS)
• At least three years’ experience in Procurements
• Full knowledge of the Zambia Public Procurement Procedures
• Members of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and supply with valid Practising License
• Knowledge of SAP will be added advantage
