Marketing Development Officer
Our Client Bayer is looking for energetic marketing professionals who will work as ‘Marketing Development Officer’ and who will be the liaison between Bayer and its current and potential trade channels (shops). The successful candidates will be able to train Agro dealers on Monsanto products. The right candidates will be able to build relationships with Monsanto DEKALB trade partners, manage a group of shops during the season, be willing to operate within assigned region and work in a high-pressure environment where customer service will be at the Centre of all activities.

Purpose of the Role
The Marketing Development Officer will be responsible for facilitating, monitoring and increasing sales within a specified area around the Sales & Service Centre through various sales channels.
Areas of operation
This position falls under a fixed term contract, with the opportunity of longer term extension based on performance and organizational need.
Closely manage relationships with a multiple Agrodealers/Shops across assigned market and as part of this work:
Sell and meet allocated targets
Laying out product demonstrations
Conduct field days and showcasing Bayer’s technology offerings (extension work)
Tracking and reporting market intelligence in the area
Collecting and building a local farmer database
Following up with local distributors and tracking sales
Establish and manage field demos
Provide timely weekly sales reports
Provide after sale services to the customers
Keeping track of agrodealer inventory
Identify current and new DEKALB seed traders for Bayer
Provide these traders with draft contracts, and ensure proper signing of these contracts.
Following completion and approval of the contracts, take any orders for the upcoming season
Order management and facilitation – Liaise with Bayer Sales Representative to collect orders from assigned outlets and ensure no stock outs during the season.
Train shopkeepers about Bayer products including:
Any DEKALB (DK) promotions being run, how they work, how farmers may benefit from these programs. Provide key information to farmers and traders on the suitable DEKALB varieties for the region
Prepare and submit written or oral reports as might be advised by Bayer
Monitor competition activities in these outlets and inform the reporting Sales Representative
Candidates must be hardworking, dedicated, outgoing and able to explain any simple or complex concepts to shop owners, shop assistants and farmers.
Key Performance Indicators
Visit and train 3-5 shops per day reaching 25 shops per week;
Achieve and/or surpass volume targets as advised by Regional Sales Manager
Submit a channel inventory tracker for all outlets in their care every Monday by 10:00 am latest.
Receive consistent “good” or “excellent” scores through the feedback mechanisms from the trained Agro dealers / Sales Representatives.
Must have a Diploma in Agriculture and or equivalent
Must have a valid motorbike license
