Finance Manager

JOB BRIEF

Polytra Zambia is an international logistics company which is part of the Fracht Group. It is globally present and specialised in freight, forwarding, clearing and many logistics.

Polytra Zambia is looking for a reliable Finance Manager who will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial and related administration tasks.

The ideal candidate will be required to cordinate, anaylse and report the financial performance of the organization to Manangement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Financial accounting and reporting

  • Able to perform all accounting functions from Books of primary entry to the preparation of Financial Statements
  • Maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with head office reporting deadlines
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including, PAYE,  NAPSA, Withholding Payments,  Income Tax, VAT/Sales Tax
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the Financial Controller and the external auditors as necessary
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
  • Maintain and develop, if not yet in place,  financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Review together with County Manager the monthly results Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy

Payroll preparation and administration

  • Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
  • Process and submit statutory and benefits remittances on time

Office administration

  • Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
  • Monitor all legislation relevant to the organization (employment standards, occupation health and safety, human rights, etc) and all regulations on professional certification to ensure that the organization is compliant

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, applicable laws and best practices
  • Knowledge of European GAAP is an asset
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
  • An analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Knowledge in a logistics and shipping company or agency is a plus
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Academic Qualifications

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate

Professional Qualifications

  • Full professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ZICA)

Professional Designation

  • Fellow / Associate of ACCA / CIMA / ZICA

Proficiency in the use of MS Office and Financial Management software
